July 26, 2010 -- The long-feared first case of an invasive, troublesome and costly exotic mussel is suspected at Sand Hollow Reservoir in southern Utah.
Scuba divers trained to look for mussels and hired by the Washington County Water Conservancy District found a 2-centimeter adult mussel Friday on a boat dock at the popular reservoir near Hurricane.
State wildlife biologists believe it is a quagga mussel, but the animal is being sent to a laboratory in Colorado for a determination. Read the full story to get the details.
