Asian Carp Continues to Spread
July 06, 2010 -- While Illinois lawmakers turn their focus to remaking the Chicago waterway system in an effort to stop an invasion by Asian carp, the carp continue to make their way into Indiana.
An official with the Indiana department of Natural Resources last week confirmed the recent discovery of a single Asian Carp in central Indiana. Ohio Department of Natural Resources also noted that the carp is likely headed its direction.
Officials are considering whether heavy rains in the future may allow the carp to move from river to river, possibly resulting in a number of different entry points into the Great Lakes. Read the full story to get the details.
