Communities Winning Fight Against Invasive Species

June 28, 2010 -- Purple loosestrife, Eurasian watermilfoil and other invasive species long have been troublesome residents of local lakes and waterways. But central Wisconsin communities are starting to make strides against the intruders. Read the full story to get the details.

"Successful efforts to fight the water weeds, especially in the Wisconsin Rapids and Stevens Point areas, show what can be achieved with hard work and cooperation, said Department of Natural Resources water resources specialist Scott Provost, who works with lake associations and county governments to help control invasive species."
