May 20, 2010 -- On the eve of a planned poisoning of waters
around a Chicago-area lock to see if any Asian
carp turn up, Attorney General Mike Cox and the
attorneys general of four other states criticized
federal officials for not taking more
comprehensive emergency action. The poisoning
effort is overdue, they said.
“Further delay is unacceptable,” the attorneys
said in a seven-page letter to the Army Corps of
